Obwohl die perkutane transluminale Ballonangioplastie (PTCA) das klinische Beschwerdebild und die körperliche Belastbarkeit symptomatischer Patienten mit koronarer Herzkrankheit verbessert, konnte bisher kein positiver Einfluß auf die langfristige Prognose nachgewiesen werden.
