An approach to forecasting consumer demand by a generalized nonparametric method is presented. The necessary and sufficient conditions under which trade statistics can be continued to reverse functions of demand fulfilling the Law of Demand have been obtained. To test these conditions, the Warshall-Floyd algorithm having polynomial complexity over the number of time moments of trade statistics is applicable. Forecasting the demand by analysis of the rationalizability of trade statistics and the realizability of the Law of Demand is proposed © 2009, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
