摘要：
The system of equations describing the 2D flow of a Maxwell fluid is considered. The global existence of a weak solution for the initial boundary-value problem with periodic boundary conditions is proved. The result allows us to prove the solvability of the corresponding Cauchy problem.© 2000 Kluwer Academic/Plenum Publishers.
