This paper deals with the analysis and minimization of L2-sensitivity for three-dimensional state-space digital filters which are separable in the denominator. First, a novel expression for evaluating the L2-sensitivity is developed in closed form. An iterative procedure for synthesizing the optimal filter structures is then presented so as to minimize the L2-sensitivity. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the utility of the proposed technique.
