摘要：

By focusing on Herder's position within the clergy, this essay opens up new perspectives on his rhetorical and literary production. The essay highlights Herder's contributions to homiletics, i.e. his sermons and sermon-related texts, which are virtually unknown in the field of German studies - An important reference are the Provinzialblatter which Herder publishes after he has been appointed as a head pastor at Biickeburg in the year of 1771.
