摘要
The focus of this paper is on the perceptions of 28 convicted bank robbers in South Africa obtained during in-depth interviews in 1995.2 The crime of bank robbery involves four phases: these have been termed the planning, execution, disposal and reconsideration phases. A discussion of these indicates that decision-making and rationalisation are prominent in the bank robber's modus operandi. The paper concludes with a few notes on the prevention of bank robbery.
