摘要
In the current mechanics literature, one very frequently encounters the concepts locomotion and locomotion system. Unfortunately, strict definitions of these seemingly intuitively clear notions are generally missing. In order to provide a reliable common basis for working in this field, the present paper tries to fill this gap.
