Validation and adaptation of the multidimensional servant leadership scale in Spanish population

This study presents the adaptation and validation of the Multidimensional Servant Leadership Scale (MSLS; Liden et al., 2008) in the Spanish population with a sample of 727 employees from different organizations. The results of the CFA replicated the seven-factor structure of the original scale. Regarding the criterion validity of the Spanish version of the MSLS, we found that several dimensions of the MSLS were significantly related to the identification of the employees with their organization and supervisors, as well as with their knowledge-sharing behaviors, albeit not all dimensions were significant. Thus, a multidimensional approach appears to be necessary in deepening the knowledge of how servant leadership relates to relevant organizational outcomes.
