The antecedents and outcomes of obsessive passion in the workplace

摘要
The research intends to reveal the antecedents and consequences of obsessive passion in the organizational environment. Passion is intense positive feelings towards a task. This concept causes positive and negative results in the organizational environment with its dual dimension. The concept of obsessive passion provides negative outcomes as well as positive results under certain conditions. In this respect, it is intented to reveal the antecedents and consequences of obsessive passion, which is new in the literature, in the organizational environment. 329 valid data were obtained from the senior managers, department and technical managers of the enterprises operating in Ankara Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ). The results revealed that negative affectivity is the precursor of obsessive passion and workplace ostracism, emotional exhaustion, resilience, mental well-being and managers’ risk taking propensity are the result.
