We discuss the possibility to express a function on a semigroup G, admitting an addition theorem of the form, $ f(xy) = U(x)V(y) $, (where $ f : G \rightarrow {\mathcal L}(E, F),\ U : G \rightarrow {\mathcal L}(L, F),\ V : G \rightarrow {\mathcal L}(E, L) $) as a generalized matrix element of a representation of the semigroup by linear operators on a Banach space.
