Triggered by growing energy and raw material prices, high dependency on some critical raw materials from few countries, as well as rising demand for resources globally, resource efficiency is increasingly gaining importance. In the past couple of years, the European Union has been putting its focus on this issue and established a variety of policy approaches and initiatives that deal with sustainable ways to use resources and render economic growth resource efficiently. Industry plays a crucial role in this context. RHI contributes to resource efficiency by, inter alia, applying sustainable and innovative sourcing methods, by sustainable magnesia sintering and by continuous process improvements.
