Continuous galvanization of (4-8)-mm pipe is considered, with a view to improving the corrosion resistance of the zinc coating and improving the economic indices. The proposed system for uniform zinc application considerably improves the performance of the zinc-plated product. Replacement of existing zinc alloys with new alloys containing 1.2% Al and 0.05% Ni is recommended. Optimal parameters for the application of hot zinc coating to moving pipe are presented. © 2010 Allerton Press, Inc.
