Localization of Machine Production in Russia: Progress and Prospects

Abstract: Localization of production is essential in Russia today. Attention focuses here on the degree of localization of products and services. A method of assessing the degree of localization is considered. In machine production, critical processes are identified, and the localization of the auto industry and the production of railroad locomotives and rolling stock are analyzed. The conclusion is that greater localization is needed. By localization of production, better coordination among supply chain participants is possible, permitting stable development. Requirements are identified for the stable development of localized supply chains in machine production. © 2023, Allerton Press, Inc.
