Computation of multicomponent phase diagrams with the help of the Thermo-Calc software is used to optimize the concentration limits of additives in alloys of the Al – Mg – Si – Cu – Fe system with the aim to attain maximum alloying of the solid solution after homogenizing annealing. The effect of the temperature and time of the homogenizing annealing on the phase composition and structure of ingots from the alloys suggested is studied and the possibility of introduction of transition metals (chromium and zirconium) into the solid solution is determined.
