The article gives a short description of the condition of the global foreign exchange market and the place of the Russian currency in it. The consequences of the influence of the European debt crisis on the main indices of the Russian foreign exchange market are studied. Their correlation with events in the European countries and the actions of the monetary authorities in order to eliminate external shocks are analyzed. Principal channels of the influence of the European crisis on the Russian foreign exchange market are defined. © 2014, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
