This is the name of the Fourth International Symposium that was held in Ternopil on September 19 – 21; 2000. The symposium was organized by the Karpenko Physicomechanical Institute of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (UAS) and the Pulyui Ternopil State Technical University under the patronage of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences; the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; and a number of scientific councils and societies. Head of the Program Committee; Corresponding Member of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences O. E. Andreikiv; Rector of the Ternopil State Technical University; O; M; Shablii; and others came out for the opening of the symposium;
