Abstract: The influence of rotary-cutting parameters on the surface roughness, residual stress, and surface microhardness of the workpiece is investigated. Increase in the cutting depth and the supply is found to increase the surface roughness, residual stress, and surface microhardness. The influence of the other cutting parameters on the surface quality of the workpiece is mainly associated with the kinematic and dynamic features of machining. The quality of machining may be regulated by adjusting the cutting parameters. © 2022, Allerton Press, Inc.
