Manual for staging of cancer published by the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) is the most widely used for cancer staging throughout the world. AJCC has published the 8th edition of the manual in 2016, which is currently the latest edition. This review article is a comparison of important changes in TNM and prognostic staging of surgical cancers in the latest edition compared to the previous one, i.e., 7th edition that was published in 2009.
