In this paper, we investigate the growth of solutions of higher-order linear differential equations where the coefficient of f\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$f$$\end{document} dominates the other coefficients near a point on the boundary of the unit disc. This work is a generalization and an improvement of previous results in Hamouda (Electron J Diff Equ 2012: 1–8, 2012), Heittokangas et al. (Result Math 49: 265–278, 2006) and others.
