Acupuncture treatment of connatal epidermolysis bullosa; [Akupunkturbehandlung einer konnatalen Epidermolysis bullosa]

A female patient aged 44 suffering from “Epidermolysis bullosa” since her birth had come to see us for acupuncture treatment. She reported two periods per year with more violent reaction than usualy. She had been treated with corticoids since childhood. Her condition improved remarkably following just four treatments even though the efflorecences tended to increase towards the end of the treatment period. In order to stabilize the state, we placed three acupuncture implants type “Templax quint” in the auriculum in July and August 2015. Additionally we performed an acupuncture treatment every 3 to 4 weeks for 18 months. Thus we achieved a marked improvement of skin pressure resistance and, accordingly, decrease of discomfort. © 2016 Deutsche Ärztegesellschaft für Akupunktur (DÄGfA)
