The American Journal of Dance Therapy: Its history and evolution

An historical overview of the development of the American Journal of Dance Therapy is provided to honor the Journal's 25th anniversary. Significant changes in organization, content, and format over the years, and trends in content are noted. These are viewed by the author as reflecting changes in the profession of dance/movement therapy, as well as in the evolution of the American Dance Therapy Association. Topics include: major decisions that influenced the evolution and development of the Journal; noteworthy articles reflecting new trends in clinical practice related to changes in health care; articles regarding professional issues; and pertinent research studies. © 2003 American Dance Therapy Association.
