New Data on the Taxonomy of the Asian Species of the Genus Cheilosia Meigen, 1822 (Diptera, Syrphidae), with a Key to the Group of Species with Bare Eyes

Abstract: Two new species of the genus Cheilosia from the highlands of the Pamir, Tajikistan, and Kopet-Dagh, Turkmenistan are described Cheilosia abdulnazarovi sp. n. belongs to the subgenus Taeniochilosia Oldenb., while Cheilosia turkmenica sp. n., to the nominative subgenus. Both new species and Cheilosia semenovi Bark. are included in the key to the Central Asian Cheilosia. The previously unknown male of Cheilosia chukotana Bark., Mutin is described from Magadan Province; its systematic position in the subgenus Pollinocheila Bark. and its position in the key to the Far Eastern species of the genus are given. Line drawings of the head, antennae, and genitalia of the male are given for both new species; line drawings of the male genitalia and some morphological characters necessary for identification of these species are given for the species included in the key. © 2022, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
