Mechanical Properties of Structural Steel after Diamond Burnishing

Diamond burnishing of ground ВСт3сп and 10Г2С1 steel samples with different surface hardness has almost no influence on their strength and yield point (about 1% increase in the strength). Diamond burnishing of 15ХГ2CМФР and 12ГН2МФАЮ steel samples increases their strength and yield point by 6–10%, with 5–12% decrease in their plastic properties. Diamond burnishing increases the surface hardness of the steel samples by 36%. © Allerton Press, Inc., 2023.
