Tasks to be solved within the framework of a systems approach for the development of Russia's nuclear power industry in the near and long-term future are formulated. Ways in which the nuclear power industry can be changed from its present state to that it should be in the middle of the 21st century are outlined. The main types of reactor installations based on which the projects of advanced nuclear power station units will be developed are considered. © Pleiades Publishing, Inc, 2009.
