Preparative synthesis of 2-[3-alkoxy-4-(hydroxy, alkoxy, acyloxy)phenyl]-1H-benzimidazoles proceeding from substituted benzaldehydes

摘要：
New functionally-substituted 2-[3-alkoxy-4-(hydroxy, alkoxy, acyloxy)phenyl]-1H-benzimidazoles were synthesized in preparative yields from aldehydes of vanillin series, their ethers and esters by the reaction with 1,2-phenylenediamine in the presence of sodium hydrogen sulfite in DMF solution at 80°C.
