In recent years, coincineration of sewage sludge and municipal solid waste to generate electricity has become a research focus. The water content of sludge and the ratio of mixture (sludge to other substances) are key factors that affect the synergistic incineration. In this study, different amounts of sludge with different water contents were mixed with municipal solid waste (the sludge contents were 5 wt% and 10 wt%) to produce samples to obtain the best parameters for coincineration. The results indicated that the samples prepared by mixing municipal solid waste with 10% sludge (water content 10%) had the least amount of pollution during the steady-state changes of incineration. However, for instantaneous discharge, 5% of semi-dried sludge (water content 50%) mixed with domestic waste has the lowest pollutant discharge concentration. This research achieves the purpose of resource utilization while achieving sludge reduction and will provide a reliable scientific basis for the treatment and disposal of sludge.
