Abstract—: The scattering of a unidirectional electromagnetic pulse by an infinite dielectric cylinder is considered via a computational experiment. It is shown that if the cylinder radius exceeds the characteristic length of the incident pulse, the scattered field ceases to be unidirectional. The number of oscillations in it depends on the shape, size, and dielectric constant of the scattering object. © 2020, Allerton Press, Inc.
