The structures of the Zagorsk pumped-storage power plant are described: clayey-loam dike, upstream and downstream slopes, reversible water intake, penstocks, powerhouse, downstream dam and an upstream dam. The geological structure of the area is outlined. The anti-slide measures implemented to prevent the development of creep displacement and slope destabilization are described. The monitoring programme undertaken during construction and service is outlined. Details are given of the informational diagnostics system for the on-going monitoring of the condition of the slopes and structures. The deviations in the structures' performances from design assumptions are outlined.
