Two New Coumarins from the Roots of Ligusticum daucoides

In a chemical study of antiproliferative related Umbelliferae plants of Yunnan Province, China, eight compounds, including two new coumarins, lidaucoidins A and B (1, 2), were isolated from the roots of Ligusticum daucoides Franch. The identification and structural elucidation of the new isolates were based on spectral data analysis including extensive 1D and 2D NMR. All coumarins obtained were assayed for their cytotoxic ability against HL-60, A-549, MCF-7, SW480, and SMMC-7721 human tumor cell lines.
