摘要：
Provides a summary of the available literature on leaving teeth on open drainage as part of endodontic treatment.Shows that a proportion of general dental practitioners use open drainage as a treatment option for teeth associated with pain and/or infection.Highlights the importance of gathering information regarding current general dental practice in order to better target future practice, teaching and research.
