摘要
A radial profile of the plasma mass distribution in Jupiter’s magnetosphere in the region beyond Io’s orbit up to ∼15 Jupiter radii RJ constructed according to the results of measurements on the Voyager 1 and Galileo spacecraft is used to determine the radial dependence and radial diffusion coefficient DLL. The initial profile is approximated by a function decreasing as L−5 ± 1. For this radial mass distribution, radial ion diffusion outside of Io’s orbit caused by centrifugal forces is possible. An estimate of (1.2–6.7)10−11L6 ± 1 for DLL was obtained.
