On locally finite modules

This paper is devoted to the study of locally finite modules M, i.e., modules whose finitely generated submodules are finite (as sets). In particular, we study rings which have faithful locally finite modules, for example, the polynomial rings ℤ [x] and F[x], where F is a finite field. Our results generalize the properties of Abelian torsion groups and the ring of integers. © 2005 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.
