摘要
There is a need for levodopa formulations that can provide continuous levodopa delivery for continuous dopamine production in the brain. This would allow for maximal efficacy while avoiding the motor complications associated with the short and pulsatile action of standard oral levodopa. Novel approaches that have been explored include inhalation, intestinal and subcutaneous delivery of levodopa.
