Effect of a dielectric liquid’s electrization on the characteristics of an electrohydrodynamic pump

摘要
The results of the investigation of the effect of the additional charging of a dielectric liquid behind the interelectrode gap on the static output characteristics of a two-stage pump are presented. It is shown that the increase of the inhomogeneity of an electric field on the surface of a collector facing the second stage by applying a perforated insulating coating to its certain part results in the growth of the head by 70–80%. This allows one to significantly improve the performance and to reduce the size of a multistage electrohydrodynamic pump.
