Reaction of 2,2′-(disulfanediyl)bis(1H-pyrrole-3-carbonitriles) with alkyl halides in ethanol in the presence of sodium tetrahydridoborate afforded 2-(alkylsulfanyl)-1H-pyrrole-3-carbonitriles.
