In PG(2, q), small complete k-arcs, which have a large number of points in common with a conic have been constructed. This article generalizes these results. In PG(n, q), n ≥ 3, small complete k-arcs, which have k -1 points in common with a normal rational curve, are constructed. For increasing values of the dimension n, it is even possible to construct smaller complete arcs. © Birkhäuser Verlag, Basel, 1997.
