This article suggests discriminating biological computer-aided design (CAD) systems as a separate class, proposes considering medical CAD systems as a new class of application systems, suggests classification of biological and medical CAD, and describes features of the composition and structure of medical CAD. © 2015, Springer Science+Business Media New York.
