The effect of a magnetic field on longitudinal—transverse discharge in the high-speed flow of an air—hydrocarbon mixture

摘要
The results of experimental studies on the influence of an inhomogeneous magnetic field on the nature of the ignition and combustion of an air—propane mixture in a supersonic flow that is initiated by a longitudinal—transverse dc discharge are presented. It is shown that the nature of a mixture-combustion regime strongly depends on the orientation of the magnetic field with respect to both the direction of the discharge current and the flow-velocity vector.
