In distinction from aluminosilicates, the porosity of the detemplated silicous MCM-41 is significantly reduced after several cycles of dehydration-rehyoration. The stability of Si-MCM-41 is not changed by absorption-desorption of nonpolar hexane. An explanation is proposed for the effect of rehydration on the porosity of MCM-41. © 1999 Kluwer Academic/Plenum Publishers.
