The author has previously introduced the concept of a finite total length 1. of the recession curve b2 of turbulent accelerated flows in prismatic channels. The concept corresponds to the distance between the unconstricted inlet section of the chute and a section downstream where the accelerated flow terminates and uniform flow commences. A new method for complete calculation of turbulence accelerated flow has been developed and tested over a wide range of conditions it has been shown to sufficiently correspond to actual data. The method is solved analytically and is distinguished by its simplicity and universality. Its only assumption involves determination of the specific energy Ec, which presumes a hydrostatic pressure law in the discharge section.
