The kernel of the stabilization map is computed for K1-functors modeled on split Chevalley groups of types Bl, Cl, El one step below the stable range. For the groups of type Bl this implies early injective stability for K1(Bl,R) over a certain class of rings. © 2014 Springer Science+Business Media New York.
