On Pressure Measurement in Time-Dependent Processes

Measuring the pressure in an enclosed plane volume of gas with a local instantaneous energy input is modeled on the basis of the numerical solution of the Euler equations and the behavior of the gas parameters in the test volume is studied. The energy input is associated with initial pressures exceeding the undisturbed pressure by a factor of 102 to 104. The extent of the energy input zone is varied over the range from 1/800 to 1/40 of the gas volume. A narrow, four-diameter long channel adjoins the test volume. The calculations are performed for different locations of the energy input zone and the narrow channel.
