摘要：
Der Einsatz eines Antibiotikums als antibiotische Prophylaxe in der Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie ist abhängig von der Art und der Dauer des Eingriffs sowie den bestehenden lokalen und allgemeinen Infektionsrisiken des Patienten. Ein erhöhtes Infektionsrisiko besteht bei einer Operation durch ein kontaminiertes oder verschmutztes Operationsgebiet, bei patienteneigenen Risikofaktoren und bei operationsbedingten Risiken. Ziel einer antiinfektiven Prophylaxe mit einem systemischen Antibiotikum ist der Schutz des Patienten vor postoperativen Wundinfektionen.
