摘要
The characteristics of guided and surface waves in a planar waveguide structure with a cladding of a chiral or chiral nihility metamaterial and a core of double negative material are theoretically investigated. The electromagnetic fields, dispersion relations and power flow within the structure in both guided and surface wave configurations are carried out. Some novel features such as the existence of the fundamental modes and the presence of both forward and backward waves have been found.
