Das kombinierte Auftreten von operationsbedürftiger koronarer Herzkrankheit und hochgradiger Stenose der A. carotis interna wird häufig beobachtet. Die optimale therapeutische Strategie für die betroffenen Patienten wird — hauptsächlich mangels prospektiv randomisierter Studien — kontrovers diskutiert.
