摘要
The influence of the electrode reaction kinetics on the critical Rayleigh number for a binary electrolyte solution situated between flat horizontal electrodes has been investigated. The equations of motion of an incompressible viscous fluid in the Boussinesq approximation and the material balance equations with the electrical neutrality condition have been used as a mathematical model. Analytical and numerical solutions of the linear stability problem have been obtained. The influence of the kinetic parameters of the electrode reaction (exchange current density, transport number of cations) and the transport properties of the solution on the critical value of the Rayleigh number has been investigated. © 2010 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.
