摘要
Background: Cervical cancer is the second leading cause of death among women in developing countries after breast cancer. Objectives: To describe epidemiology, management, outcomes, and prognostic factors of cervical cancer in the Radiation-Oncology Department of Mohammed VI University Hospital of Marrakech. Methods: Retrospective analysis including patient treated for cervical cancer in the Radiation-Oncology Department of Mohammed VI University Hospital of Marrakech between January 2008 to December 2014. Results: Three hundred and twenty-six cases were included, age ranged between 51 and 60 years. The age of first sexual activity below 18 years was described in 45.1%. In 90.7% of cases, histological analysis showed a squamous cell carcinoma. Stage IIB was the most common (32.6%). Radiotherapy with concurrent chemotherapy was the most widely used therapy, recorded in 78.9% of patients. Tumor size ≤4 cm, adenocarcinoma histological type, absence of lymph node involvement, age less than 50 years, and localized stage were associated with improved 3-year relapse-free survival. Conclusions: Cervical cancer is a major public health problem in Morocco. Diagnosis is often made at locally advanced stages. © 2017, Association of Gynecologic Oncologists of India.
