摘要
Although nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) increases the rate of smoking cessation, overall abstinence rates remain low. Tailoring the form, dose and duration of NRT to each smoker's needs and preferences may improve treatment outcomes and safety. Special treatment considerations are recommended for heavier or more nicotine-dependent smokers, pregnant and breastfeeding women, adolescents and those with significant cardiovascular disease. © 2006 Adis Data Information BV.
