The role of the right and left hemispheres in emotional evaluation of visual stimuli

This work is devoted to the analysis of the role of the right and left hemispheres in realization of various parameters of subjective emotional reactions to external stimuli. Experimental study of the evaluation of difficult-to-verbalize visual stimuli, according to the preset emotional valences, showed that damage to the posterior parts of the right hemisphere predominantly impairs evaluation of the emotion valence, and damage to the anterior parts of the left hemisphere impairs discrimination of the modality (quality) of the emotion.
