摘要
In this article, an improved class of estimators for estimating the finite population mean is proposed using supplementary information on an auxiliary attribute. The mathematical expressions for the bias and mean squared error of the proposed estimator are derived under the first order of the approximation using simple random sampling. An empirical study is conducted to investigate the performances of the proposed and the existing estimators. It turns out that the proposed estimator is considerably more efficient than the recent estimators suggested by Koyuncu and by Haq and Shabbir. © 2018 Grace Scientific Publishing, LLC.
